Facebook is launching another new section to their app! This feature is called neighborhoods.
This section is designed to connect neighbours and provide a curated feed of neighbour-level news. It’s currently available in Canada but it’s rolling out for more testing in the US soon.
Users can make a new subprofile for Neighborhoods. Here they can include their interests and a custom bio. This platform will have a dedicated set of moderators to review comments and make sure they are ‘relevant and kind’.
Within this feature some users will be deputised in some way, to help strike up conversations and be responsible for some light moderation.
