Google has announced that back in November 2020, they made an update to their Image Search. This update should have reduced the number of duplicate images that appear.
This update should present a more diverse set of images which are relevant to your search. If you usually get traffic from Google Image Search, you should check back to November to see if there were any substantial changes caused by this.
