Google has changed their timeline for removing third-party cookies. This now won’t happen until 2023.
The Privacy Engineering Director with Chrome has stated that there has been considerable progress, but it’s clear the more time is required to balance the ecosystem. This delay will allow more time for the web community to discuss and prepare for the change.
The new timeline suggests that developers should be able to access the technology from late 2022 to make site updates. Then over a three-month period towards the end of 2023, third-party cookies could be phased out.
