LinkedIn is developing a new service where you’ll be able to search for and hire freelancers.
This new feature is set to launch in the Autumn. The project, called LinkedIn Marketplaces, is being created to compete with other freelance hiring sites. Development for this began in October 2019 after LinkedIn acquired UpCounsel, a startup which connected freelance lawyers with businesses.
As well as being able to search for freelancers. You will be able to post your own proposals to attract freelancers for specific jobs. You will also be able to review freelancers after they complete the work. Marketplaces will allow you to compare rates and book freelancers directly. It’s expected that LinkedIn will take a percentage of the transactions facilitated through Marketplaces.
