Over the past year the number of TikTok users hosting live streams or viewing them has doubled. So TikTok is expanding the experience with new features.
TikTok content creators can now schedule and promote their streams in advance as TikTok Events. This allows them to build anticipation around the content.
They’re adding picture-in-picture. Which will allow users to continue using their phones while the live stream stays pinned to the bottom corner of their screen.
A live Q&A feature will make it easier for creators to engage with their viewers in real time. Users will be able to find live streams more easily with a new top streams feature.
Creators will be able to designate moderators ahead of their live stream to help them monitor the chat. There will also be a new keyword filter tool, this will allow creators to mute words of their choice during a live stream.
