Twitter is trying to find new ways to enable users to earn money on their platform. At this point most social platforms can be monetised and Twitter is obviously trying to keep up.

    The first method they’re trying is a tip jar. This is designed to allow users to show support for their favourite Twitter creators. Twitter will make no money off this feature, and it isn’t designed to support anyone’s living costs.

    To find out if you can tip a creator, go to their profile and look for the tip jar icon next to the follow button. If the creator has enabled this feature you will be able to click it and see a list of enabled payment platforms that you can use to tip.

    Initially this feature will only be available to users whose language is English. The intended groups for this feature are journalists, non-profits, experts and creators. They will be the first people to earn money through Twitter.
