YouTube Shorts are the YouTube version of TikToks and Reels. They will be launching in the USA in March.
Shorts are a story type vertical video which are 15 seconds or less. They originally launched for testing in India last September where it’s currently in beta. But YouTube has found that the number of Indian channels who use Shorts, has tripled since December. These shorts are receiving more than 3.5 billion daily views.
This new update will also add a new carousel to the YouTube homepage which showcases Shorts content.
