Facebook has released new features for Instagram and Messenger.
The first feature is watch together. This feature is available on both platforms and it allows you to tune into IGTV, Reels, TV shows, movies and trending videos with your friends. To start watching you need to start a video chat on either platform. In Instagram you then need to tap the media button, and select TV & Movies. In Messenger, you need to access the menu and select Watch Together.
The second feature is brand new chat themes. You can now personalise your conversations with themes such as tie-dye. With this update they have also launched new selfie stickers, custom emoji reactions, animated message effects and message controls.
Finally the third feature, which is coming soon, is vanish mode. This will be an opt-in feature that makes messages disappear once you leave a chat thread. When this mode is turned on you’ll be able to send anything, knowing that it’ll only stick around until you leave a thread. When this feature becomes available you’ll need to swipe up in a chat thread to turn it on and swipe up again to return to normal. This feature will only work with people who mutually follow each other and the other person has to agree to participate. If someone screenshots the chat in vanish mode, you will be notified.
