Google is increasing the social features available on Google Maps. A new community feed will be available under the explore tab.
The new community feed presents different types of content in relation to your location. This content seems to mostly be lists created by Google Local Guides. The lists can be anything from Parks in {location} to Best Dog Friendly Cafes in {location}. Every location has a trending weekly list, but other content doesn’t appear to be generic.
This feed also shows content directly from businesses. Google found that in early testing posts from businesses were seen two times more than before the feed existed.
