Google as on the 15th June has updated its Google Ads advertiser identity verification policy.  Google announced quite a  while ago that it is going to be rolling out its new verification program.  To continue to use the Google ads system advertisers will be required to verify their legal name though their new advertiser identity verification tool.

This will then append this information on to any of the ads that you run and will look a bit like this:

This information is going to be coming to all of Google’s ad changes, search display and Youtube.

The first set of locations have now started to be rolled out, so if you run campaigns from  Canada, India, Russia, and Ukraine you will be getting or have received the verification email so do check those old forgotten about Gmail accounts as you will only have 30 days to verify yourself before your campaigns will be paused.

If you plan to run election ads there is a completely different verification form to complete instead.
