Google have seen searches for curbside pickup and safe shopping increase tenfold over the course of the pandemic. With customers being less certain about the new shopping experience, they’re looking for more information and services that minimise contact.
Google is improving their shopping results to help speed up and increase the safety of local shopping. When you’re searching for products on Google, tap the Shopping tab and you can filter by nearby products. You can also compare store hours, locations and stock levels to help you decide where to purchase.
Google have also added labels to sellers who offer safer ways to purchase, such as curbside or in-store pickup. Google has also added click-to-call and click-for-directions buttons to products so that you can call ahead or find the store more easily.
