Pinterest have announced a brand new suite of creator-first tools. This will include their new beta Story Pins. As well as new creator profile and analytics tools.
These will enable creators to easily publish stories directly to Pinterest and it should improve the reach to Pinners looking for inspiration. Story Pins will not just post video, but they also include the ability to create voice overs and add image or text overlays. This is intended to make Pins more engaging.
Unlike stories on other platforms these will be here to stay. Just like regular pins, Story Pins can be saved to boards and will be discoverable over time. Creator profiles will also feature this kind of content at the forefront, rather than just the boards the creator has been making. As well as new analytics, Pinterest are adding reactions so that Pinners can interact more easily. This feature is initially being rolled out in the USA before rolling out to other regions in the coming months.
