Spotify is expanding their podcast advertising options by acquiring Megaphone. Megaphone is a leading podcast advertising and publishing platform.
Over 20,000 podcast owners and advertisers use Megaphone including ESPN and How Stuff Works. Spotify has said that this acquisition represents the next step towards what’s possible when it comes to podcast advertising.
This acquisition allows Spotify to give podcast creators more options to earn money from their content. Including making it easier to opt-in to have content monetised. Advertisers will also have access to the Megaphone targeted marketplace to reach their ideal target market with their podcast ads. Podcast advertising partners on Spotify will be expanding hugely as a result of this acquisition.
