Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has confirmed that Twitter is exploring a subscription model for the platform. They have been conducting user surveys to explore the kind of features that users would want from a paid model. This includes an undo send feature, custom colours, advanced analytics and special profile badges. In the same survey they also seemed to be exploring an option to block ads for a monthly fee.

As part of the survey they further explored attitudes to Twitter having ‘premium’ and ‘free’ memberships. This will be to determine the success and likeliness of uptake for a potential premium service or the loss of users if they were to implement paid features.

At the end of the survey there was a disclaimer which stated none of the mentioned features were guaranteed. Details are currently scarce but it sounds like some sort of paid membership is definitely in the works.
