Twitter is warning users when they try to like a tweet that contains inaccurate information. The alert states ‘Help Keep Twitter a Place for Reliable Information’.
The alert also tells users what is misleading about the tweet, rather than just a generic message. Twitter states that these prompts have helped to decrease quote tweets of misleading information by 29%. These labels are currently added through human moderation which does add a delay. But it is still preventing the spread of false information, maybe in the future they will be able to automate this process to stop misinformation at the source.
