Twitter have slowly been releasing their stories feature, called Fleets, in a variety of countries. It has previously been launched in Brazil, India, Italy and South Korea. They are now launching it in Japan, Twitter’s second largest market.
Fleets work exactly like story features on other platforms, expiring after 24 hours. Twitter have kept this update relatively quiet, however their launch in Japan indicates they’re clearly still interested. The launch in this market indicates that it could soon be available worldwide. However the US may be hard to crack, with users commenting on how all platforms are becoming very similar. Due to this, Twitter are yet to confirm launch dates for other countries just yet.
