Google Analytics – Safe Browsing Update
Google have announced a new update for the Safe Browsing feature; by extending the protection to automatically displaying notifications to all users. Google’s Safe Browsing feature has been protecting users for over 8 years, so it was only a matter of time for them to think of such a beneficial update.
Users will be able to act and respond quickly to any problems on their site, helping them to maintain the safety of their website and visitors.
Google Adwords – Flash to HTML 5
Recently, Google announced that it will be automatically converting Flash campaigns to HTML5 on Adwords. This will lead to increased visibility of ads, especially for mobile/tablets.
It will also prove to be useful for mobiles and some browsers that are currently unable to support Flash.
It’s important to know that not all ads will be eligible for converting, but the update should still be able to work on newer campaigns.
Google Ads Team:
“We’re introducing a way to automatically convert Flash ads to HTML5, giving advertisers better access to the portion of Google Display Network inventory that is HTML5-only”
Mobile Friendly Signals Now A Ranking Factor
As of April 21st 2015, Google will use mobile friendly factors as part of its ranking signal. Google has stated that this will have a significant impact on all search ranking in mobile search.
This is quite an important update for all marketers. This is because when people are searching for something when they’re on the go, websites that are mobile optimised are going to be seen by these people, rather than the unoptimised mobile sites. When these same people do their research back home on their tablets or desktop, they may directly go to those same sites they saw on the go rather than a generic Google search which your brand may rank highly for on desktop.
