Even before COVID-19 the public, media and advertisers were growing critical of influencers.  The lock-down has sped up this process.  Brands have pulled almost all of their budget for this channel completely.  

Even brands with budget are super nervous of this channel at the moment and the potential negative  backlash about being involved with a crass influencer.   Arielle Charnas for example allegedly used personal connections to get a COVID-10 test then allegedly did not self isolate for 14 days but instead hired a luxury villa in the Hamptons.  This caused quite a backlash from her followers, brand are doing their best to avoid this sort of exposure and association at the moment. 

The opposite seems to be happening to twitch sponsorship.   Online gaming is going through the roof at the moment in terms of sponsorship, users and also positive news stories
